Information about permanent hair removal and hair growth –
Electrolysis Permanent hair removal is accomplished by direct measured amount of electrical current into the hair follicle that causes a gradual cellular destruction impairing the ability of the follicle to produce a hair. This method was discovered by Charles E. Michel in 1875 and is still the only FDA approved permanent hair removal treatment. In this office we use sterile disposable probes and sterile forceps.
Causes of hair growth: Super flous hair growth is often the result of normal biological changes such as puberty, pregnancy and menopause, can fluctuate hormone levels to cause increase in hair growth Heredity, stress and medications can also cause unwanted hair growth.
What areas can be treated? Electrolysis can permanently treat the face, underarms, chest, back, abdomen, bikini, thighs and legs.
How many treatments are needed? We determine that together.
When is the best time to treat the unwanted hair? Hair grows in growth cycles, the best to prevent future hair from growing in at the beginning of a fast growing cycle.
Temporary hair removal techniques like shaving, plucking, waxing, treading and using creams are only temporary and some methods can result in scarring.
About our own Sherilyn R. E. She have been working at the spa for over 17 years.and has been a licenced Electrologist for over 25 years.
I explain the whole process to my clients before moving forward. I especially let them know continuity of treatment is the best way to achieve desired results. Many of my cliets tell me our spa at 30 Newbury is a relaxing experience.
Here is just one of the many great things clients have said about our Sherilyn I first started seeing Sherilyn when I was in college, I was embarrassed about the hair on my face. I did not want to be seen or talk to anyone too closely. After a few treatments, there was less hair growth. I have seen other electologist, but none are as thorough and quick as Sherilyn. Thanks again Joan
